Questions to answer
- Why did you choose this story?
A: Everyday I choose a new destination to get some exercise and walk my dog. Today in particular I found out the red bridge that was under construction was finally finished after a long few months. So I decided to show and tell the nature that was so close to the little town called Atwater Village in North Los Angeles has to offer.
2. How do you think you did?
A: I feel I didn’t capture a story compelling but I thought the scenes were pleasant to look at. I feel I could have put more meaning and thought into photos if there was more connections with the photos strung together in the gallery. I took a lot of photos but I thought so many of them looked good. It was hard for me not to post all of them. I think choosing the photos at the end was the hardest. Taking the photos was just a snap or click. I felt like I was proofreading an essay.
3. Which image do you think is the individually “best” image in your story?
A: I think the image of my dog facing the entrance to the LA river channel would best describe the stroll. It shows the entrance to some nature and the 5 freeway all in one.
4. Does your photostory contain an image that you think is not, by itself, a “great” image, but that is nonetheless important because it helps to tell your story?
A: I would say the image of just each bizarre, tree or plant I encountered in the neighborhood around home would not render the entire story without all of them together to represent the big picture of nature in LA.
5. What would you do different next time?
A: Maybe next time I could try to work with someone else other than myself and my dog to think of a better theme/story to tell. But I felt I didn’t do so bad with the help of my fury friend. Her name is Shadow and she gets 2 walks a day with 2 full meals and plenty of love.
6. Are there other Photo Stories you might like to tell?
A: Maybe next time, I can find an event to go to that interested me. I just have a first midterm to study for so I decided to keep it simple and local. I would probably do something more historical since the Hyperion bridge was 1927. Which was not too long ago.
